How to start investing from zero

No jargon, no rush. The first steps to put your money to work sensibly.

Investing · June 24, 2026

Starting to invest is scary because of the noise, not the difficulty. Headlines, gurus and promises of doubling your money in a month. You need none of that to take the first step — in fact, most of it is what you should avoid.

Before investing, get in order

Investing with costly debt on your back is like climbing a mountain with a bag of rocks. First, a buffer that covers a few months of expenses, and out with the debt charging high interest. With a firm base, everything else weighs less.

Consistency over being right

You don’t need to guess the best moment. You need to contribute a little, often, into something diversified and low-cost, and let time work. Compound interest rewards patience, not good aim.

That’s the whole secret, and it fits in one sentence. The rest is learning not to get in its way.
